Fujifilm Face Off

Fujifilm Face Off by Danger 80
Fujifilm Face Off, a photo by Danger 80 on Flickr.

Here's my new baby, alongside my old baby (well when I say old I mean a few months old and hardly used!).

The X10 is soon to be sold so I thought it would be rude not to get a shot of the two of them together. Both are fantastic cameras, but the X100 suits me better, my wife has the opposite feeling!!

I'm in the process of pimping the X100, gordy strap, lens hood and soft release all ordered .... not sure about a thumbs up yet?!

Hardly shot anything recently, hardly even left the house in fact .... cabin fever!!

Strobist: Canon 430EX at approx 1/16 power through shoot through Westcott 43" umbrella above and slightly left of camera. Triggered by RF602's.

Wet

Note to self : Do not wear clean white trainers whilst pressure washing the drive way! Looks like I'll be needing some new ones!

I had 5 minutes to kill so thought I'd get one of the strobes out and these were all I could find to take a picture of, god knows what the neighbours think?!

Strobist: Canon 430EX in home made gridded snoot approx 1m away from chucks camera left. Approx 1/16 power triggered with RF602's.

Taken outside during the day so I had to 'kill the ambient'! Shot portrait for the pixels/detail then extended the line/BG to the left in post.

X100 - New Love

X100 - New Love by Danger 80
X100 - New Love, a photo by Danger 80 on Flickr.

So Focus On Imaging 2012 was an eventful one .... this little beauty somehow found it's way home with me!

Love it so far and quite excited by the fact I have managed to sync my canon 430EX with it at 1/1000th sec using RF602's!

Highlight of the show included getting hands on with the 5DMk3, 1DX and the Fujifilm XPro1 ..... I loved the XPro1, it's larger than I thought it would be and the focus is slowish, but IQ looked good and it feels and looks fantastic. The 1DX felt fantastic and seemed to performer like a trooper, super quick. The 5DMk3? I don't think I'll be rushing out for one just yet at £3k, focus seemed to be greatly improved and according to the sale guy much of the insides have been upgraded, I wasn't taken with the feel of it though.

Anyhow, this was lit by a single 430EX at 1/4 power, through Westcott 43" shoot through umbrella fired by RF602.

Ibiza - Roman Crash Helmet?

Ibiza - Roman Crash Helmet? by Danger 80
Ibiza - Roman Crash Helmet?, a photo by Danger 80 on Flickr.

While in Ibiza we managed to find ourselves in the middle of the Roman and Carthaginian Festival. Many participants were dressed in period costume, the Romans were led along the beach to the battlefield by a 'General' on horse back, the Carthaginian's mostly arrived by boat storming ashore to commence battle .... which basiclally involved pelting each other with tomatoes, the Roman's even had a secret weapon, a massive catapult!! I couldn't help myself but get in the action and take some shots, I got covered in tomato seeds but managed to avoid being hit!

This guy was on the Roman's side and obviously knew what to expect with tomatoes flying from all angles .... though I don't remember reading about Roman's wearing crash helmets when I was in school?!
